Role overview
This position focuses on building and maintaining reliable maintenance plans for the relevant equipment, making sure the required spares are on hand, and ensuring the right resources are available to carry out the work. During planned maintenance shutdowns, the role also tracks whether execution is progressing effectively and advises maintenance controllers if any unexpected work comes up.
Key responsibilities
- Follow all applicable safety, health, and environmental procedures and legal requirements.
- Keep the workplace safe, tidy, and compliant with housekeeping expectations.
- Identify plant areas, equipment, spare parts, and supporting documents or systems needed for the job.
- Prepare maintenance plans and schedules.
- Organize inspection-tagged work and related repairs as part of planned maintenance activities.
- Improve maintenance plans continuously so outages are shorter while still protecting plant integrity and ensuring all work is completed.
- Communicate clearly with teams and stakeholders at every level in the plant.
- Contribute to personal growth and team capability building.
- Carry out work according to VPO principles.
- Understand, implement, and comply with GOP/toolkit requirements.
- Maintain and sustain improvements that have been introduced.
- Implement and support the maintenance planning system in SAP.
- Manage maintenance-related data effectively.
- Review maintenance data and produce reports and analysis.
- Plan scheduled maintenance activities.
- Prepare, update, and distribute reports.
- Coach and train internal customers and team members.
- Plan and monitor maintenance projects.
- Create and revise work instructions as needed.
- Audit maintenance records, documentation, and outputs.
- Support, guide, and coach maintenance team members.
- Manage personal development and performance.
- Provide support to the maintenance team and act as relief for the Controller during leave.

Minimum requirements
Candidates should hold at least an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. The role also calls for 3 to 5 years of production engineering experience in an FMCG environment, along with 5 years of technical mechanical/electrical and bottling experience in a leadership role within FMCG.
