About the Role
APM New Zealand is seeking an experienced physiotherapist to join its team supporting the New Zealand Defence Force in Waiouru. This opportunity involves working with a high-performance population, from cadets and recruits through to experienced military personnel, and helping them meet rehabilitation and fitness goals.
The role sits within a values-led organisation that focuses on culturally responsive care, teamwork, and making a real difference to people’s lives. The environment includes close collaboration with military medical staff, training teams, and rehabilitation specialists.
What You Will Do
- Assess, manage, and treat a wide range of injuries and conditions, including concussion, pre- and post-operative cases, non-ACC issues, respiratory concerns, burns, and pelvic health needs.
- Create tailored rehabilitation plans and injury prevention programmes.
- Partner with military medical and training teams to support recovery and readiness.
- Contribute to performance improvement, resilience, and return-to-duty outcomes.
- Work with motivated, elite individuals in a dynamic rehabilitation setting.

Candidate Profile
APM is looking for someone with the right qualifications and registration to practise as a physiotherapist, along with a valid practising certificate and a current New Zealand driver licence. Experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy is important. While at least two years of clinical experience is preferred, applicants at different stages of their careers are encouraged to apply.
