Role overview
Pacific Process is expanding its specialist engineering and project delivery work across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the USA. The business supports clients in the dairy, food, and beverage industries with a blend of technical expertise and hands-on project execution.
They are looking for an experienced Process Engineer or Project Manager with exposure to food, beverage, or dairy processing to join the team in a full-time Christchurch-based position. The role suits someone ready to take on greater responsibility and contribute to complex, high-value capital projects.
What the role involves
You will work across several projects at the same time, partnering with site personnel and a range of multidisciplinary stakeholders. Your focus will be on guiding process design and engineering work so projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while meeting client expectations.
Core responsibilities
The position covers the full project lifecycle, including concept development, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and time spent on site.
You will also prepare and assess reports, proposals, design calculations, and technical analyses, while supporting commercial delivery through contract administration, negotiation, review, and project control activities.
What you should bring
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or a science discipline and have solid experience in areas such as project scoping, feasibility work, design, estimating, scheduling, and procurement.
Strong technical capability in risk assessments, SOP development, safety audits, HAZOP studies, and design reviews is important, along with the ability to work independently, maintain professional standards, and build reliable client relationships.
Additional information
This opportunity is based in Christchurch and is available for an immediate start. Candidates must be citizens of New Zealand or Australia, or hold permanent residency in New Zealand or Australia.
To express interest, applicants are asked to send a short personal profile together with their CV.
