Role overview
Leighs Construction is looking for an intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join its high-performing project team from a central Auckland base. The role will support projects in both North and South Auckland and will sit within a national team. The ideal candidate will bring experience on large-scale projects, strong attention to detail, and a proactive, collaborative approach.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the QS team to oversee project finances, cash flow, and changes during construction.
- Support the preparation and completion of tender submissions.
- Develop and sustain professional, mutually beneficial relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Work with the QS team to manage profit margins and maintain healthy project cash flow.
- Prepare supporting records and deliver accurate reports on financial project performance.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying.
- A recognised and relevant professional qualification in quantity surveying.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and sound judgement.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial construction background is preferred.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships and rapport with others.
