Role Overview

Orion Digital is hiring an AI-native product/data analyst to own the quality of lending insights and connect customer behavior to business performance. This is an intermediate position with a clear path to broader senior-level ownership. The role begins with building strong product expertise and delivering dependable analytics, then expands into more advanced modeling, platform ownership, and strategic analytical work over time.

You will work closely with Finance, Product, Risk, and Operations teams to translate business needs into scalable data models and self-serve reporting solutions. Using AI tools is expected in this role to speed up SQL work, documentation, data exploration, and analytical workflows.

Base Salary: CAD 75,000 to CAD 90,000

Key Responsibilities

This role is split between business intelligence and analytics, with a smaller portion focused on data solutions and analytics engineering.

Take end-to-end ownership of the lending analytics area, covering the entire customer journey from acquisition and application through approval, funding, repayment, retention, and support.
Combine marketing, product, risk, operations, and finance data into one coherent view of customer and business performance.
Create and maintain semantic data models in Snowflake that convert complex business rules into scalable, reusable structures for consistent reporting.
Develop dashboards and analytical views that highlight trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities early, before issues grow larger.
Work with Finance, Product, Risk, and Operations to define KPIs, understand business processes, and keep reporting standards aligned and trusted.
Support Wealth analytics as a secondary area and help keep reporting methods consistent across the broader financial platform.
Use AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, Cursor, or similar products to work faster, automate repetitive tasks, and improve the quality of outputs.
Write and maintain SQL for reporting, analysis, and day-to-day operational decisions.
Contribute to modernization work, including the redesign of existing reporting pipelines.
Collaborate with Data Engineering and Architecture to make analytical datasets dependable, scalable, and governed properly.
Follow strong practices for testing, monitoring, documentation, and data quality.
Help integrate analytical assets into the company’s wider data platform.
Show ownership, curiosity, and initiative in how you approach work.
Share knowledge and help build analytical capability within the team.
Grow into more complex modeling, platform ownership, and AI-driven analytics work over time.

Requirements

3 to 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, analytics engineering, or a similar field.
Strong SQL ability, including experience creating analytical data models.
Comfort with product analytics methods such as funnel analysis, segmentation, cohort analysis, and customer behavior analysis.
Ability to link user-level behavior to outcomes such as conversion, funding, repayment, retention, revenue, and operational efficiency.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Looker, or comparable modern analytics tools.
Good understanding of dimensional modeling, KPI design, and reporting best practices.
Strong judgment about data quality and reliability.
Comfort working with incomplete or changing data and turning ambiguity into clear analysis.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while working directly with business partners.
Genuine interest in AI tools and active use of them to improve productivity and output quality.
Preferred background includes Snowflake Cortex Analyst or similar semantic-layer tools, BI visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI, financial services or lending experience, conversational analytics or natural language query tools, and exposure to analytics platform modernization or cloud migrations.

Eligibility
