Role Summary

TCS is seeking an experienced Data Center Network Engineer in Chennai, India. The role calls for 8 to 12 years of total experience, with 8 years of relevant experience, and the interview will be conducted virtually on 1st July 2026.

Core Responsibilities

• Plan and implement spine-leaf data center designs for environments that demand high performance and low latency.
• Create routing approaches using BGP EVPN, VXLAN overlays, OSPF/ISIS underlays, and traffic engineering methods.
• Improve fabric performance, scale, resilience, and convergence behavior.
• Assess and adopt automation tools for fabric provisioning and ongoing lifecycle operations.
• Design perimeter and internal security frameworks for north-south and east-west traffic.
• Apply segmentation through firewalls, EVPN, VRF-based separation, and zero-trust concepts.
• Build security controls that protect applications, tenants, and multi-tier workloads.
• Connect network security with threat detection, IDS/IPS, and compliance needs.
• Develop firewall deployment models such as routed, transparent, service insertion, PBR, and SDN-led designs.
• Ensure security appliances work smoothly within EVPN/VXLAN-based fabrics.
• Work closely with application and security stakeholders to maintain reliability and consistent operations.
• Design data center interconnect architectures using EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, OTV, SD-WAN, or IPsec/GRE-based approaches.
• Define solutions for stretched networks, L2/L3 connectivity, and workload mobility across locations.
• Implement disaster recovery and active-active multi-site patterns.
• Maintain high availability, predictable behavior, and uniform policy propagation between sites.
• Design, build, and maintain the overall network setup.
• Provide support for hybrid-cloud networking and cloud security across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Work with SDN and intent-based networking platforms.
• Prepare strong design documents, communicate clearly, and lead architecture reviews.
• Deliver HLDs and LLDs and assist implementation teams during execution.

Experience and Interview Details

Applicants should have 8 to 12 years of overall experience, including 8 years in a relevant role. The interview process is virtual, and the scheduled interview date is 1st July 2026.
