About the role
Based in Satair in Singapore, this position sits at the heart of warehouse and supply chain operations. The Inventory Controller is responsible for keeping stock records accurate, cost-efficient, and physically available to support business needs at all times. This is achieved through disciplined cycle counting, careful investigation of discrepancies, data-led root-cause analysis, and system corrections carried out in line with Satair operating procedures.
Inventory management and reporting
- Carry out planned inventory checks and cycle counts to meet the required accuracy targets.
- Make precise stock adjustments and quickly close out system queries or discrepancies.
- Take ownership of overall inventory accuracy across the facility.
- Prepare detailed monthly inventory reports and share them with management for review.
- Build and maintain an inventory dashboard that reflects current stock status.
- Investigate missing inventory and customer complaints in depth, share findings with the team and management, and suggest both short-term and long-term corrective actions.
- Track inventory activity each day, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.
Audits, investigations, and quality control
- Follow all documented company quality procedures in every operational activity.
- Serve as the main contact and inventory subject-matter expert for internal and external audits.
Process improvement and cross-functional support
- Study inventory patterns and recommend improvements that help prevent missing stock and repeated complaints.
- Work closely with teams across functions to support system and process changes that improve warehouse quality performance.
- Offer practical guidance and feedback to warehouse staff to reduce mistakes during receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping.
Secondary duties
- Step in with hands-on support in other warehouse activities such as picking, packing, or receiving when volumes are high and continuity must be maintained.
- Promote continuous improvement by helping floor teams understand how day-to-day actions affect stock accuracy.
Health, safety, and 5S
- Support the 5S workplace method to keep the warehouse organised, efficient, and safe.
- Identify and report any health, safety, or security risks noticed during inventory checks.
Ad hoc projects
- Take part in user acceptance testing and provide operational input during system upgrades, migrations, or new supply chain technology rollouts.
- Assist with other logistics and supply chain initiatives as assigned by warehouse management.
Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Three to five years of experience in inventory control or warehouse-related roles.
- Strong numerical ability and analytical thinking.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP.
- Good stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness and operational understanding.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Comfort working across cultures.
- Service-oriented approach.
- High attention to detail, strong data focus, and excellent organisation and time management.
