Role overview

UP42 is hiring an IT Support Lead to join its IT function in Berlin. The role supports the teams developing a leading marketplace for geospatial data and analytics, and is centered on keeping the company’s cloud-based SaaS environment secure, efficient, and reliable. You will play a key part in day-to-day productivity by ensuring employees have the technology and support they need to work smoothly.

What you will do

• Take charge of the company’s core IT environment, including identity management and the SaaS ecosystem.
• Develop and maintain mobile device management for a growing Apple-only fleet across a global organization.
• Strengthen and apply endpoint compliance controls and identity security standards to meet SOC 2 requirements and internal security rules.
• Own strategic IT infrastructure initiatives from early planning through deployment and rollout.
• Coach and support junior IT staff while staying actively involved in technical work.
• Build and run SaaS governance and lifecycle processes to reduce shadow IT, assess vendor risk, and protect against data leakage.
• Manage the IT tools budget, lead supplier negotiations, and simplify the SaaS landscape to improve efficiency.
• Work closely with HR, Finance, and Engineering to improve internal workflows and reduce friction for teams.

What we are looking for

• Proven background in managing and expanding IT infrastructure in a modern, fast-moving, or global corporate setting.
• Strong hands-on expertise with enterprise identity platforms, especially Okta, and Apple-focused device management tools such as Jamf Pro and Apple Business Manager.
• Practical knowledge of compliance requirements and experience supporting IT operations through formal SOC 2 audits.
• Clear experience delivering IT projects end to end, as well as handling budgets, SaaS governance, and vendor relationships.
• Experience in a leadership or mentoring role where you have helped junior IT colleagues grow and succeed.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent business English and a willingness to work on site in Berlin.

Bonus qualifications

• Experience managing and securing related SaaS tools such as Google Workspace, Atlassian, Slack, 1Password, Snipe-IT, and Vanta.
• Industry certifications related to Okta and/or Jamf.
• Exposure to AI governance and setting controls for secure enterprise use of LLMs and AI tools.
• German language skills at fluent or professional level.
