Role Overview
This position is for a package handler in an onsite facility in Kelowna, British Columbia. The role focuses on the movement, scanning, and sorting of freight within the operation.
Key Duties
- Unloading and loading freight as it arrives and departs.
- Scanning items accurately and organizing freight inside the facility.
- Sorting packages and freight to support day-to-day operations.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs rules is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are needed.
- The candidate must be able to finish all initial and refresher training successfully.
- Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages weighing as much as 150 lbs using the right equipment is required.
- Must be comfortable working in a Windows-based PC environment.
- Ability to meet required thresholds on any mandatory tests and training programs.
- Should be able to work different shifts as business demands change.
- If the employee lives in Quebec, bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.
Schedule and Pay
Pay rate is $21 per hour. The scheduled availability is Monday and Tuesday from 4:30am to 8:30am, Wednesday through Friday from 5:00am to 8:30am, and Saturday from 4:00am to 8:00am, with either Wednesday or Tuesday off.
