Role Overview
Larsen & Toubro is hiring a Planning Engineer for its Dubai, United Arab Emirates operations. The role focuses on building, tracking, and controlling project schedules, with a strong requirement for experience in substation projects.
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Create the baseline project programme in Primavera P6.
- Build the work breakdown structure and organize activities into logical phases.
- Set up activity sequencing, dependency links, and scheduling relationships.
- Estimate activity durations and load resources and costs where needed.
- Pinpoint the critical path and key milestone dates.
- Revise and keep the schedule current on a weekly and monthly cycle.
Progress Monitoring & Control
- Measure site progress against the approved baseline plan.
- Carry out delay reviews and highlight schedule slippages.
- Develop recovery plans and corrective actions to bring the project back on track.
- Track critical tasks and oversee resource deployment.
- Review float usage and assess schedule-related risks.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare progress updates on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Produce S-curves comparing planned performance with actual progress.
- Draft short-range look-ahead schedules for two-week and three-week horizons.
- Share progress dashboards and KPI reports with management.
- Record schedule changes and maintain a proper revision history.
Education & Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required, preferably in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines. Prior exposure to substation projects is mandatory.
