Role overview
A growing food and beverage manufacturer in the Mississauga area is seeking a Procurement Manager to support its expanding operations. This position is an important hire during a period of significant growth and investment in manufacturing capacity.
The selected person will collaborate with teams across the business to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, support scale-up efforts, and contribute to a coordinated, productive manufacturing environment. The role is central to maintaining supply continuity, controlling costs, and managing supplier performance in a fast-moving, high-volume production setting.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee purchasing for raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend categories.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, including negotiations and ongoing performance reviews.
- Protect continuity of supply so production plans and customer requirements are met without disruption.
- Work closely with operations, production, QA, and supply chain stakeholders to align procurement plans with business needs.
- Spot opportunities to reduce costs and contribute to budgeting efforts.
- Track market conditions, supplier pricing, and exposure to vendor-related risk.
- Support inventory control efforts, including optimization and reduction of waste and obsolete stock.
- Improve procurement processes and systems through continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain leadership positions.
- Background in food and beverage manufacturing is mandatory.
- Solid knowledge of material handling, procurement workflows, and inventory-related processes.
- Experience sourcing and purchasing imported ingredients.
