Arabic QA Lead

Role overview

This remote contract opportunity is for an Arabic Quality Assurance Lead who will own quality control, consistency checks, and trainer performance oversight across Arabic AI training initiatives. The position focuses on reviewing AI-generated Arabic content as well as the work produced by trainers and QA contributors, then delivering clear written feedback that helps maintain a high standard across the project.

You will assess submissions against project rubrics and language guidelines, checking for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural fit, meaning retention, instruction adherence, formatting, and other project-specific requirements. In addition, you will help identify repeated quality problems, support onboarding, keep documentation current, and follow up with contributors who are inactive or inconsistent.

The organization is an AI data services company that supports training data needs for major AI companies and foundation-model labs. In this role, your Arabic quality leadership will contribute directly to producing Arabic training data that is natural, correct, culturally appropriate, well documented, and aligned with client expectations.

Selection process

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s qualification in Arabic, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or another relevant field.
• Arabic fluency at a native or near-native level, with strong reading and writing ability.
• Good command of English for understanding project instructions, working with teams, and giving feedback in a clear and professional way.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Arabic writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or similar language-review work.
• Strong knowledge of Arabic grammar, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, right-to-left formatting, tone, register, Modern Standard Arabic, and regional variation.
• Ability to judge Arabic content against detailed rubrics and identify issues such as mistranslation, overly literal wording, unnatural phrasing, wrong register, dialect mismatch, fabricated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
• Prior experience guiding or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QA professionals is a strong advantage.
• Comfort using remote collaboration and tracking tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, dashboards, trackers, and project management platforms.
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding assets, honeypots, and other documentation.
• Experience with AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review Arabic items regularly, identify quality concerns, send ongoing feedback through direct messages, and escalate serious or repeated issues.
• Keep trainers and QAs informed on Discord about new guidelines, project changes, workflow updates, and quality expectations.
• Answer trainer and QA questions promptly and clearly, especially on Arabic wording, grammar, register, dialect, right-to-left formatting, translation accuracy, terminology, and cultural context.
• Reach out to inactive or unproductive contributors, encourage them to re-engage, track follow-ups, and flag any availability concerns.
• Build and update Arabic project documentation such as style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Organize and deliver onboarding or training calls for trainers and QAs, covering project expectations, workflows, rubrics, quality standards, and Arabic-specific style rules.
• Make sure trainers and QAs apply Arabic language standards consistently and stay aligned as project requirements change.
• Spot recurring quality gaps, recommend workflow enhancements, and contribute to scalable QA systems for Arabic-language work.

Additional information

This is an hourly remote contractor role. The work is intended for someone who can operate in a fast-moving environment and coordinate effectively across distributed teams.

No immediate assignment is available at the moment, but qualified candidates may be prioritized for future relevant openings.
