AV/ELV Systems Engineer

Role Overview

This position is responsible for shaping, delivering, and sustaining audiovisual and extra-low-voltage (AV/ELV) solutions for a venue. The role covers solution design, sourcing, technical evaluation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance to ensure systems remain dependable, high-performing, and aligned with operational needs.

Planning and Review of AV/ELV Solutions

• Work with stakeholders and clients to understand and document solution needs.
• Prepare technical scopes and detailed specifications for proposed AV/ELV solutions.
• Carry out technical assessments, validate designs, review risks, and test feasibility to ensure solutions fit venue and client requirements.
• Plan the integration of multiple AV/ELV components and systems so they operate together smoothly.
• Offer specialist advice on AV/ELV technologies and industry best practices.

Project Management and Delivery

• Manage AV/ELV projects through all stages from kick-off to final handover.
• Control project schedules, resources, and budgets.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal team members.
• Supervise the installation of AV/ELV systems.
• Oversee commissioning activities and performance testing.
• Keep project documentation and records accurate and up to date.
• Prepare routine progress updates for management.

Operational Technical Support

• Provide continuous technical support and fault-finding assistance.
• Perform technical reviews and risk checks as needed.
• Create regular inspection routines, procedures, and checklists for system health.
• Put quality-control measures in place and maintain them to protect performance standards.
• Support hosted events by ensuring AV/ELV systems are configured correctly and operating properly.
• Design and implement emergency response actions for AV/ELV failures or incidents.
• Take the lead during emergencies and drive quick resolution with minimal disruption to venue operations.

Experience and Education

The role calls for more than 8 years of experience in AV/ELV system design and implementation, with preference given to candidates who have worked in sports venues or large-scale event environments. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), or an equivalent credential, are considered a strong advantage.
