Role overview
The Cloud Consultant will work on designing, deploying, and operating cloud infrastructure and services. The role is hands-on and focused on secure, scalable, and automated solutions that meet performance and availability expectations. It also involves cloud operations, troubleshooting, automation, governance, and support for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and rollout of secure, resilient, and scalable cloud infrastructure, including standard landing zones.
- Build automation scripts and help deploy Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
- Support infrastructure discovery, assessment, and cloud migration planning and execution.
- Manage day-to-day cloud operations such as automated patching, backup and restore activities, and resolving basic to intermediate issues.
- Work with incident, problem, and change processes through integrated ITSM workflows.
- Assist with cloud governance, identity lifecycle activities, RBAC/ABAC policy implementation, and compliance enforcement.
- Help improve cloud efficiency by applying FinOps practices and performance tuning techniques.
- Carry out basic disaster recovery drills, strategy execution, and validation checks.
- Support customer workshops, solution demonstrations, and technical documentation in pre-sales situations.
- Keep cloud environment records, change logs, and standard operating procedures accurate and up to date.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure deployment and support.
- Practical experience with at least one major public cloud platform, with emphasis on Google Cloud Platform.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
- Working knowledge of virtualization, containers, networking, IAM, and cloud security fundamentals.
- Familiarity with cloud assessment, migration, and monitoring tools.
- Hands-on exposure to basic security controls and compliance practices in the cloud.
- Ability to solve problems independently and also collaborate effectively with a team.
- An associate-level cloud certification, such as Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer.
- Preferred: experience with Google Cloud services such as Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and GKE.
- Preferred: exposure to VMware or hybrid cloud setups and integration with on-premises systems through VPN or Interconnect.
- Preferred: involvement in cloud migration projects and interest in cloud-native architecture and application modernization.
- Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions for infrastructure automation.
- Preferred: experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Google Cloud Operations Suite.
- Preferred: basic scripting ability in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Preferred: strong communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical clients.
- Preferred: experience in agile delivery environments and use of tools such as Jira or Confluence.
