Data Scientist

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Scientist in Singapore to work with a leading AI-focused fintech company. The position centers on building data-driven solutions for banking use cases, with a strong emphasis on fraud detection, credit risk, and advanced machine learning.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and operationalize machine learning models for credit risk assessment, payment intelligence, and fraud detection.
• Examine transaction-level data to uncover fraud behaviors, suspicious activity, and new risk signals.
• Carry out feature creation, model training, validation, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Work closely with Risk, Product, and Engineering partners to move models into live production environments.
• Make sure model development and deployment align with regulatory requirements and compliance expectations.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related area.
• Prior experience in data science, ideally in banking, fintech, or fraud analytics.
• Strong working knowledge of Python, SQL, and machine learning methodologies.
• Practical exposure to NLP methods.
• Experience or familiarity with Generative AI and/or large language models is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of banking products, fraud typologies, and risk modeling concepts.
• Experience applying supervised and unsupervised learning, statistical methods, and AI-based techniques.
