About the role
The Ned Doha is housed in the former Ministry of Interior building and features seven restaurants, 90 guest bedrooms, event spaces, and Ned’s Club, a private members’ club with access to a rooftop terrace, health club, spa, gym, and a 30-m outdoor pool.
This position is for an Executive Chef to take charge of the culinary operation, guide the kitchen team, shape menus, and maintain consistently high standards across preparation, presentation, and service.
Key responsibilities
- Create inventive, seasonally relevant menus that align with the brand’s food concept and culinary direction.
- Direct the full kitchen brigade, including sous chefs, line cooks, and prep staff, while coaching, training, and supporting team development.
- Supervise all cooking and food preparation to ensure consistency, quality, and full compliance with hygiene and sanitation requirements.
- Manage ingredient sourcing, stock levels, and food-cost controls to support budget targets and profitability.
- Work with management on pricing, review sales performance, and identify ways to improve menu performance and revenue.
- Keep the kitchen well maintained, orderly, and efficient while meeting health and safety rules.
- Track culinary trends, new techniques, and ingredient sourcing developments, then bring fresh ideas into menu planning.
- Build a positive, inclusive kitchen culture that encourages creativity, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Represent the business at culinary showcases, food festivals, and other promotional events when required.
Qualifications and requirements
- A culinary qualification or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
- Prior experience in a comparable chef position within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
- A proven record of strong cooking standards, with solid command of classic techniques and a creative approach to menu creation.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including the capacity to motivate, guide, and develop culinary teams.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective coordination with front-of-house teams, management, and suppliers.
- Genuine enthusiasm for food and hospitality, with a focus on delivering memorable guest experiences.
- Comfort working in a demanding, fast-moving environment while staying composed under pressure.
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
