Kitchen Assistant

Role Overview

Windmill Healthcare Group is hiring a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support the Care Team at Abbot Close Care Centre in Askeaton, County Limerick, Ireland. This is a fixed-term assignment running from 6 July 2026 through 30 August 2026.

Working Pattern

The role is flexible and part-time, with a requirement of 3 days each week, weekends included. Each shift is 12 hours long.

Main Duties

• Keep kitchen, dining, and catering areas clean and tidy, using the right tools and cleaning methods.
• Support the preparation and serving of meals and drinks for residents, visitors, and staff, while meeting the company’s standards for hygiene and cost control.
• Set up resident trays and dining spaces so that the correct food, utensils, and equipment are ready in the right quantities and at the right time.
• Follow all hygiene, health and safety, HACCP, and COSHH requirements, and ensure compliance with relevant legal obligations.

Qualifications and Experience

The role requires HACCP certification and prior experience working as a Kitchen Assistant. A sound understanding of kitchen-focused health and safety practices is also expected.

Additional Information

This is a fixed-term position, not an ongoing permanent role.
