Role overview
Aurecon is growing its Tauranga team and is seeking a Lead Engineer for Land Infrastructure to support the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. This position involves work across transport, land development, utilities, water, and government-led projects, with a strong mix of technical delivery, client interaction, and mentoring support for junior engineers in a regional team that is expanding.
Key responsibilities
- Produce civil infrastructure designs for roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks, and land development work across transport, water, energy, and government projects.
- Develop technical reports and design documentation that meet quality standards, budget requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Act as a technical guide and provide support to less experienced engineers.
- Assist with proposal development and broader project delivery for the national Land Infrastructure team.
- Work with clients to understand their needs and turn those challenges into practical engineering outcomes.
Candidate profile
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering is required.
- Approximately 10 or more years of experience in civil infrastructure design is expected.
- Hands-on experience with roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks, and pavement design is important.
- Working knowledge of engineering tools such as 12d or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed for client and stakeholder engagement.
- A team-oriented, positive approach with an interest in coaching and developing others is highly valued.
Culture and inclusion
The organisation encourages people to bring their full selves to work and values an environment where every voice is heard. It also highlights its commitment to diversity through independent awards and accreditations, and continues to look for ways to strengthen that commitment.
A fair and inclusive hiring process is offered, and candidates who need adjustments or other support to make the process more accessible are encouraged to request it.
