Mid-Level Client-Side Project Manager (Construction)

Role overview

A growing Sydney-based consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its collaborative team. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering major projects valued in the hundreds of millions and operates alongside some of the leading names in Sydney.

This role will suit someone who wants to move beyond repetitive commercial or retail fitout work and contribute to projects with genuine community impact.

Project exposure

The consultancy has a solid pipeline across social infrastructure, including:

• Schools and early learning centres
• Universities
• Hospitals, mental health facilities, and medical centres
• Social housing, aged care, and retirement living

Team and culture

The organisation places people at the centre of its business. Staff retention is strong, development is actively supported, and the team expects high performance from both sides of the relationship.

You will work closely with two senior project managers and a hands-on director, with the opportunity to manage your own projects, deal directly with clients, and influence how work is delivered.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will oversee projects from start to finish, maintain direct client relationships, and manage delivery within a consultancy environment. You will be given responsibility for your own workload rather than being isolated in a large management structure.

Requirements

The employer is looking for candidates with the following background:

• At least 5 years of experience in the Australian market
• Minimum 3 years spent with a project management consultancy
• A tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or Engineering
• Experience in the built environment only; IT and civil infrastructure backgrounds are not suitable
• Proven end-to-end project delivery experience
• Strong client-facing communication skills
• Exposure to social infrastructure projects would be an advantage

Working arrangement

This is a flexible onsite role with one work-from-home day each week as standard.
