Overview
The Project Engineer will report directly to the Site Project Manager and will be an important contributor to PepsiCo PGCS’s strategic capital projects program. The position focuses on improving efficiency and applying strong engineering practices across the business while making sure all project work meets internal standards and external regulatory obligations.
This is a 24-month fixed-term position based in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee everyday project management and construction work on site, making sure all activities follow project requirements, SFA, FDA, and other applicable regulations.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and communicate all site-based project tasks from initial concept through completion.
- Arrange and lead daily progress coordination meetings for site works.
- Ensure installation and startup activities align with the intended process design.
- Apply proven practices from other PepsiCo businesses and external industries to achieve strong performance in plant and equipment design, project execution, and construction management.
- Work closely with the plant team to support a smooth transition of completed projects into operations.
- Coordinate engineering design for hook-up and tie-in work across process systems with internal stakeholders, contractors, and equipment vendors, ensuring project needs are met and local codes and industry standards are followed.
- Review vendor-submitted documents and make sure all feedback is addressed so the system design intent is maintained.
- Examine contractor design documents for purchased process systems and equipment, and align with subject matter experts and other design disciplines on process-related matters.
- Monitor installation of processing equipment and systems to ensure PepsiCo requirements are achieved.
- Take part in FAT, SAT, and pre-commissioning activities when needed.
- Support the development of process P&IDs and review design, construction, and as-built issues.
- Contribute to process HAZOP reviews.
- Help prevent compliance gaps by working with CSA/MEP Project Managers and other teams, reviewing design information, resolving engineering issues, identifying short- and long-term risks, researching relevant standards and codes, and helping develop compliance procedures.
Qualifications
Applicants should have 5 to 10 years of experience in process-industry engineering, with added exposure to operations or maintenance work. A degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
