Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and improve technical documentation for software products, internal platforms, or business operations, depending on the team you join.
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders so the documentation matches how the systems actually function and what users need.
• Turn complex technical information into content that is clear, organized, and easy for different audiences to use.
• Help define documentation conventions, style rules, and quality standards across teams and products.
• Collect feedback from users and communities to make documentation more relevant, accurate, and practical.
• Encourage engineers and cross-functional colleagues to contribute to documentation efforts.
• Apply structured documentation approaches, including Diátaxis, where appropriate.
• Support the recognition of documentation as an essential discipline in both product development and internal communication.

What the role calls for

• Proven background in technical writing, software documentation, or a closely related engineering-facing communication role.
• Practical exposure to software development or solid familiarity with engineering tools, workflows, and environments.
• Ability to understand technical systems well enough to explain them with accuracy and clarity.
• Strong analytical and structured thinking skills.
• Excellent written English with careful attention to precision, consistency, and readability.
• Experience working with engineers, product teams, or open-source communities.
• Comfort using tools such as Linux, Git, command-line interfaces, or documentation systems like Sphinx and reStructuredText.
• Curiosity about technology and a willingness to learn new systems and subject areas.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in distributed, fast-moving teams.
