பணி விளக்கம்
Role overview
We are hiring an Assistant Project Manager for a major heavy civil infrastructure program in Washington, D.C. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting a landmark, multi-billion-dollar mega-project with complex structural, rail, and transit components that will improve regional connectivity.
The position is suited to a motivated professional with 2 to 5 years of experience in heavy civil or similarly complex structural work who is ready to take on real project ownership rather than remain in a purely support-focused capacity. You will work closely with senior leaders, handle important scopes of work, manage project controls, and follow a defined path toward future advancement.
Compensation for this role is $150,000 to $175,000 base salary, along with an excellent benefits package.
Project operations and field leadership
You will take direct commercial and operational responsibility for selected complex structural or civil work packages, ensuring execution stays aligned with engineering requirements.
This role includes acting as a key contact for subcontractors while coordinating schedules, monitoring site performance, and supporting compliance with safety expectations.
You will also partner with superintendents and field engineering teams to address constructability concerns, material delays, and structural challenges as they arise on site.
Project controls and administration
Support the maintenance of the master schedule, follow project milestones, and help monitor cost-control systems to reduce the risk of budget overruns.
Manage and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders, keeping communication clear between field teams, design teams, and the client.
Ensure day-to-day field activities comply with strict QA/QC standards and the safety requirements typical of large public transit projects.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or another related technical discipline.
Relevant background should include 2 to 5 years of practical project management or field engineering experience in heavy civil construction such as bridges, highways, rail, mass transit, or major marine and structural work.
You should also be comfortable using project management tools such as Primavera P6, Procore, or Viewpoint, and be able to read and interpret structural drawings and civil plans.
Core strengths
This opportunity is best suited to someone who communicates confidently, can establish authority in the field, negotiate effectively with subcontractors, and uphold high standards under pressure.
You should also be strong analytically, with the ability to spot sequencing issues or logistical constraints before they begin to affect the schedule.
What the role offers
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility landmark project that can be a significant career milestone for years to come.
You will work daily with experienced Project Directors who are known for developing strong operational talent.
The role includes a structured, performance-driven pathway toward becoming a Project Manager.
Additional support includes a comprehensive benefits package, performance bonuses, and relocation assistance where applicable.
