Associate Business Development Lead

Overview

Google is hiring an Associate Business Development Lead to support the Google Play Partnerships team in New York, NY. The role may also be based at the Playa Vista, CA campus, and applicants can indicate a preferred work location from Mountain View, New York, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. This position sits within Global Partnerships, a team focused on building product-enabling partnerships, shaping go-to-market approaches, and supporting growth across major Google products and services.

As part of the Google Play Partnerships organization, this role acts as the operational backbone for highly visible alliance partnerships. The person in this position will help keep partner work running smoothly, support developers and product outcomes, and build deep exposure to the Android and Play ecosystem while collaborating closely with Business Development Managers.

Compensation

The stated US pay range is $112,000 to $162,000 annually, with a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits. Pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

• Support and expand key partnerships with major mobile app developers while working alongside senior partner development managers to address business goals and challenges.
• Spot and resolve operational hurdles in areas such as policy, console usage, and Android/Play troubleshooting so partners can achieve business results.
• Collaborate across internal teams and external partners, including developer relations, policy, go-to-market, and legal, to move developer initiatives forward in line with Play objectives.
• Help build and deliver partner benchmarking and growth conversations using internal tools and data to create persuasive narratives that encourage adoption of Google Play solutions and help move agreements ahead.
• Create and improve processes and policies that strengthen Google’s ability to operate at scale, including closing escalation gaps, advancing promotional discussions, and enabling developer feature requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking; or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree.
• Experience handling agreements or working with external partners.
• MBA or master’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
• About 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or a similar function preferred.
• Proven ability to manage external partners at scale rather than through highly customized support.
• Experience working cross-functionally inside an organization and coordinating agreements with legal teams.
• Background in globally scaled environments and in planning and managing work at an operational level.
• Strong ability to condense and explain complex operational issues with excellent attention to detail.
