Role overview
This position is based in Luton and is focused on planning and managing crew rosters so the airline can run its commercial schedule efficiently. The role balances operational needs with safety, compliance, and productivity, while also contributing to better systems and processes.
What you'll do
- Create crew schedules in line with the commercial flying programme and duty-time restrictions.
- Improve roster efficiency to raise productivity while staying within safety and regulatory boundaries.
- Manage crew availability and allocation to support programme coverage, operational resilience, and planned utilisation targets.
- Work closely with Cabin Crew, Flight Operations, Training, Human Resources, and Recruitment to ensure staffing levels and qualifications remain suitable.
- Monitor crew fatigue and wellbeing when planning rosters.
- Review, update, and maintain cockpit and cabin crew schedules.
- Support process and system enhancements, including oversight of the HP bidding and Roster Preferences module.
- Coordinate regularly with Training and Crew Training Planning teams on rostering rules and training obligations.
- Ensure adherence to aviation regulations, including duty and flight time limits and Fatigue Risk Management requirements.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate brings 1 to 3+ years of experience in a relevant role. A Bachelor's or Master's degree is required. Fluency in spoken and written English is also needed.
Useful knowledge and strengths
Experience with AIMS Crew and Ops systems is an advantage, as is familiarity with working rules, limitations, and rest requirements. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, clear presentation skills, collaboration, interpersonal effectiveness, and a proactive growth-oriented mindset are important. The role also requires the flexibility to travel when needed and the ability to live and work in London, United Kingdom.
