Job summary

The driver is responsible for moving railroad crew members safely to and from locations requested by the railroad. Trip routes and working times can change based on customer demand, and safety remains the top priority at all times. Both full-time and part-time openings are available across multiple shifts, and prior experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe driving practices and maintain strong safety awareness
• Make punctuality a priority so customer schedules are met
• Transport customers to their destinations safely
• Deliver courteous and professional customer service
• Stay in timely contact with the dispatch team
• Open and close doors and hatches for crew members as needed
• Report vehicle defects, mechanical concerns, or missing items found during inspections to the supervisor
• Follow company policies and procedures consistently
• Handle any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Candidate profile

The ideal hire is at least 21 years old, has a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and brings at least 3 years of driving experience, whether personal or work-related. Applicants must be able to pass a post-offer drug test, motor vehicle record review, and homeland security background check. Candidates should also live within 30 minutes of the branch to support on-time service. A medical DOT card is required where applicable, or must be obtained after hire if state rules require it.
