About the Role
Headlight is a fast-scaling behavioral healthcare organization focused on therapy and psychiatry across multiple states. Founded by psychiatrists, the company aims to improve mental healthcare access and outcomes by combining strong clinical expertise, innovation, and data-driven operations. Its mission is to improve lives one session at a time.
The data and business intelligence team is central to day-to-day operations, supporting everything from patient-to-clinician matching and AI-assisted real-time workflows to financial and clinical reporting that informs key decisions. This position is a practical, high-impact engineering role within a small, productive team, working closely with the VP of Analytics and CTO on systems that operate around the clock in a HIPAA-regulated environment.
What You'll Do
You will take ownership of core data pipelines, build and maintain stored procedures, troubleshoot integrations, and deliver regular improvements to production systems. The role also includes creating AI-enabled automation to strengthen data and operations workflows.
Technical Environment
- Python with pandas, pyodbc, and requests
- T-SQL and Azure SQL Server stored procedures
- Azure SQL Server data warehouse with more than 200 tables
- Azure cloud infrastructure
- Custom Python-based ETL framework
- HubSpot integrations across contacts, companies, deals, tickets, referrals, and referring physician hierarchies
- NextGen EHR ingestion for patients, appointments, pharmacy, and clinical transactions
Responsibilities
- Build, support, and improve data pipelines used in production.
- Create and maintain stored procedures and version-controlled SQL scripts.
- Work on integrations between internal systems and external platforms such as CRM and EHR tools.
- Investigate and resolve issues in live data workflows and automation.
- Develop AI-assisted automations to improve operational and data processes.
- Collaborate directly with senior leadership on systems that support reporting, scheduling, and clinical operations.
- Help ensure data systems remain reliable in a 24/7 healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and T-SQL.
- Practical knowledge of SQL Server/Azure SQL Server and stored procedures.
- Ability to work with ETL pipelines and production data systems.
- Experience debugging integrations and supporting operational data workflows.
- Comfort working in a regulated healthcare environment, including HIPAA-related constraints.
- Ability to work independently on a lean team and move work forward quickly.
