Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar calls for an Electrical Engineer who can develop, assess, and improve electrical systems and layouts used in power distribution and related applications. The role covers the preparation of technical drawings and project documentation, carrying out load calculations, checking specifications, and making sure all work aligns with applicable codes and standards. The engineer will coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and vendors during planning, installation, testing, and commissioning stages. The position also involves diagnosing electrical faults, joining site inspections, and supporting quality-focused, safe, and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Qualifications
- A solid grounding in electrical engineering concepts and practical electricity applications, with the ability to use core principles in project settings.
- Prior exposure to electrical design work, including single-line diagrams, layouts, schematics, and supporting technical documents.
- Understanding of power systems, covering load flow, fault level analysis, protection coordination, and system reliability.
- Working knowledge of power distribution networks such as LV and MV systems, switchgear, transformers, and related components.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Awareness of applicable international and local electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Ability to use engineering design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD or equivalent software, along with basic electrical calculation tools.
- Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and careful documentation practices with attention to detail.
- Comfort working on site, cooperating with multidisciplinary teams, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in power, construction, or industrial projects within the Gulf region will be considered an advantage.
