Financial Data Privacy Analyst

Role overview

This contract role is for a Financial Data Privacy Analyst who will work remotely. The assignment pays between $35 and $70 per hour and is expected to require 10 to 40 hours each week.

Key responsibilities

• Assess financial documents and digital environments to spot, analyze, and mitigate risks involving personally identifiable information (PII).
• Use a strong working knowledge of international privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA, to support compliant data-handling practices.
• Examine and sanitize sensitive materials such as Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), financial statements, and contracts using professional redaction and privacy tools.
• Work with internal or client stakeholders to create, record, and improve privacy procedures for sensitive operational workflows.
• Look beyond obvious identifiers and consider whether indirect clues in proprietary methods or reconciliation steps could reveal protected information.
• Recommend practical improvements to strengthen privacy controls across finance and corporate processes.

Required background

• Prior hands-on exposure to PII compliance in finance or corporate settings is required.
• A solid understanding of privacy legislation such as GDPR and CCPA, especially as it applies to financial information, is essential.
• Experience using document redaction and sensitive-file handling tools is needed.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills are important, along with the ability to turn complex privacy rules into workable steps for a team.
