Role overview

Green by Nature is seeking two energetic and driven people to join its Hastings horticulture team in Hawke's Bay. The position suits someone who enjoys outdoor work, brings a strong work ethic, and holds a full New Zealand driver's licence.

What you'll be doing

You will work alongside your crew across a wide range of horticulture and site-care tasks. The job includes planting, weeding, mulching, vegetation management, installing bollards, picnic tables, and park signage, as well as tidying and improving green spaces and contributing to landscaping work such as street gardens and operating mowers.

What we're looking for

Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar position, or a background in horticulture, landscaping, or gardening. Because the work can be physically demanding, good fitness is important. You should also be a reliable team player, able to follow health and safety practices, and motivated to get the work done without close supervision. A current, clean driver's licence is essential, including the ability to drive a manual vehicle and tow a trailer.

This role comes with guaranteed hours, with the potential for additional hours depending on operational needs. You will also receive a performance-based salary that is reviewed each year, a work phone that can be used privately, and an annual wellness allowance of $300 after the qualifying period.
