About the Business

The Adani Group is a diversified Indian conglomerate with 10 publicly listed companies and a country-wide portfolio in logistics and utilities infrastructure. Headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the group has built a strong position in logistics and energy through large-scale infrastructure development and operations and maintenance practices aligned to global benchmarks. With four IG-rated businesses, it is the only infrastructure investment grade issuer in India.

Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) is a major force in India’s power transmission and energy infrastructure landscape, supporting reliable energy movement across the country. The company operates across both live and under-development projects and manages more than 20,000 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and substations. As part of the Adani Group, AESL follows the philosophy of #GrowthWithGoodness and focuses on sustainable growth, digital innovation, smart grid adoption, and ESG-led execution to strengthen India’s energy security.

Role Purpose

This position is focused on ensuring successful execution of substation projects at site, with responsibility for productivity, schedule adherence, budget control, quality compliance, and safe delivery. The role requires strict observance of zero-harm principles and disciplined execution across all stages of construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the site execution plan for substation projects, including monitoring, coordination, scheduling, and supervision of day-to-day field activities.
  • Track progress against plan by maintaining daily and monthly reports and ensuring work advances on time.
  • Apply quality control systems on site, checking materials and workmanship and ensuring electrical work aligns with Field Quality Plans.
  • Coordinate with the main EPC contractor, electrical inspectors, Power Grid, and load dispatch centres to support system integration and commissioning.
  • Prepare and process RA bills for the company and contractors on a monthly basis and ensure material reconciliation is accurate.
  • Enforce safety procedures across the site and maintain a zero-harm work environment.
  • Ensure all site operations comply with statutory, safety, and regulatory requirements, including maintenance of material receipt and handover records.
  • Witness equipment tests and certify erection and commissioning test reports as per applicable standards.
  • Work with external parties such as EPC contractors, service providers, OEMs, and government bodies to keep project execution smooth.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align on project objectives and resolve cross-functional dependencies.
  • Plan budgets, monitor expenses, and manage cash flow to remain aligned with project timelines.
  • Control resource usage through material reconciliation, billing oversight, and adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Identify project risks early, evaluate their impact, and implement mitigation measures to reduce delays and safety issues.
  • Use project management tools and digital systems to improve monitoring, communication, and execution efficiency.
  • Promote continuous improvement by adopting better methods and technologies that streamline work and reduce operating costs.
  • Guide the team, encourage collaboration, provide coaching, and help build a respectful and productive work culture.

Stakeholder Management

Internal stakeholders include the P8-M department, Engineering, HO, and HODs. External stakeholders include the EPC contractor, Electrical Inspector, OEM, STU, CTU, SLDC, and NRLDC.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Candidates should hold a B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering and bring 10 to 15 years of experience in electrical project execution, preferably in substations, power transmission, or energy infrastructure. At least 3 to 5 years of that experience should be in high-voltage substation projects such as 765/400 kV systems. The role also calls for hands-on exposure to site electrical works, quality control, and safety management in large infrastructure or utility environments, along with familiarity in working with contractors, authorities, and project tracking systems.

Additional Information

The role demands strong knowledge of quality, safety, and regulatory standards relevant to substation projects. Experience with project management tools and site reporting platforms will be valuable for effective tracking and execution.
