Job Overview
The Materials Administrator supports day-to-day materials management operations and handles routine supply chain issues with limited oversight. The role involves choosing from established solutions and making decisions that affect the team through the accuracy and usefulness of the information and services delivered.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate materials-related activities.
- Carry out receiving processes and resolve quantity mismatches, as well as overs, shortages, and damaged items.
- Enter and maintain data in the materials management system, including Smart Materials.
- Support materials management functions such as inventory control, allocation, and material matching.
- Follow company materials management procedures and apply them consistently in line with internal policies.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, foundation-level qualification, or equivalent in a relevant field; alternatively, a high school diploma/GED/IGCSE plus 2 years of relevant experience.
- 0 to 3 years of related experience.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Well-organized, disciplined, and strong in communication.
- Ability to work effectively with operational managers and other stakeholders across the organization.
- Careful attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to quickly learn new topics and systems.
- Previous experience in materials management is preferred.
- Solid understanding of the full materials management process from start to finish.
