Role Purpose

This position is responsible for delivering process engineering support on major and mega projects, including technical guidance and supervision within the process engineering function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver process engineering services that satisfy Worley, client, and applicable legal or regulatory requirements while staying within schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate and manage process engineering deliverables and project needs.
  • Take charge of process engineering activities, including attendance at relevant meetings, preparation of progress updates, and adherence to review and checking procedures.
  • Confirm that the project scope is properly defined and that any scope changes follow the formal change control process.
  • Support procurement, construction, and commissioning work by reviewing requisitions, evaluating technical bids, and assisting with purchase order preparation.
  • Serve as the process engineering lead on assigned projects.
  • Where managing a team, define project requirements, encourage workshare when appropriate, allocate tasks, and monitor team progress.
  • Ensure all assigned services are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with Worley, client, and statutory requirements.
  • Address and resolve differences between Worley and client expectations in a proactive manner.
  • Stay current with emerging developments and technical advances in process engineering.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members when needed.
  • Communicate clearly with the process engineering team, project stakeholders, and the client.
  • Spot issues early, develop practical solutions, and seek help when necessary.

All work must be performed in accordance with the organization’s quality assurance procedures and standards.

Health, Safety and Process Safety

  • Maintain personal safety and follow occupational health and safety requirements at all times.
  • Apply HSE principles within the design process, with strong attention to process safety and best-practice methods.

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • A full-time Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is mandatory. Candidates without it must be prepared to obtain it during the probation period.
  • CPEng status, or active progress toward it, will be considered an advantage.

Industry Experience

  • Substantial senior-level experience in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically on offshore projects.
  • Strong design background in oil and gas, including at least the last 5 years leading a team of process engineers and designers.
  • Deep technical, practical, and leadership experience in the process discipline, with exposure to managing multi-disciplinary projects and teams in a similar industry.

Technical Tools

  • Simulation tools: Aspen suite, Hysys, Pipesys, FlareNet, and PRO-II.
  • Flow assurance tools: PipeNet, Pipesim, PVTSim/OLGA, PipePhase, TLNET, and Fathom.
