Role overview

Single Homeless Project is hiring a Project Coordinator to support its London-based team on a full-time, fixed-term contract of 2 years. The starting salary is £32,034.46 a year, increasing step by step to £35,081.51 annually.

Single Homeless Project is London’s leading homelessness charity, working to prevent homelessness, provide safe accommodation and help people rebuild their lives. The organisation focuses on trust, dignity and practical support, and works in a trans-inclusive, disability-friendly environment while aiming to be anti-oppressive and equitable.

About the role

This position supports the Achieving Potential programme, which helps people access learning, volunteering, training, education and employment. The aim is to make the offer more connected, visible and easy to access so that participants can build confidence, skills, purpose and independence.

As Project Coordinator, you will keep the programme running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. That includes planning activity, maintaining up-to-date information, handling enquiries, tracking engagement and outcomes, and helping participants move between opportunities in a joined-up way. You will also work with colleges, employers, training providers and community organisations to create more routes into development and opportunity.

The role is suited to someone who enjoys bringing order to growing work, turning ideas into practical delivery, and creating systems and relationships that make a real difference. Support for development includes supervision, learning and development opportunities, and experience in programme coordination, partnership work, impact reporting and inclusive service delivery.

Working pattern and location

This is a hybrid role. You are expected to work from SHP offices and services for 3 days each week, with the option to work from home for the remaining time.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily delivery of the Achieving Potential programme.
  • Keep programme plans, records and information accurate and current.
  • Manage communication across teams, participants, volunteers and external partners.
  • Maintain the programme prospectus and related information materials.
  • Handle incoming enquiries and support participant engagement.
  • Track participation, progress and outcomes.
  • Help participants transition between learning, volunteering, training, education and work-related opportunities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with colleges, employers, training providers and community groups.
  • Support the growth of a more accessible and connected programme offer.
  • Contribute to improving systems, structure and coordination across the work.

Requirements

  • You should be highly organised and able to turn ideas into clear plans and workable systems.
  • You need to communicate with warmth, curiosity and respect when working with clients, colleagues, volunteers and partners.
  • You should have a commitment to supporting people affected by homelessness, trauma or disadvantage.
  • You need confidence in keeping work on track, including scheduling, information management and practical problem-solving.
  • You must be willing to work under an Enhanced DBS check, which will be processed by the employer for the successful candidate.
  • You must already have the current right to work; applications requiring sponsorship will not be accepted or progressed.
  • Applications may be reviewed for the use of AI in the answering of application questions.

Benefits

  • Salary rises after successful completion of the 6-month probation period.
  • 37.5-hour working week.
  • Flexible working hours, with core hours from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in non-accommodation services.
  • 25 days of annual leave, increasing each year up to 30 days, plus paid Bank Holidays.
  • Employer pension contribution equivalent to 5% of annual salary.
  • Staff Health Cash Plan and discounts scheme.
  • A comprehensive training programme tailored to the organisation’s work.
