Role Overview

This role is for a Project Engineer - MEP based in Dubai, supporting the management of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a major bridge project. The position requires close coordination of design, installation, and authority compliance to ensure the work meets project requirements, RTA expectations, and UAE regulations.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate all MEP activities for the bridge project, including lighting, power, drainage pumping, fire protection, and utility systems.
• Check MEP design drawings, shop drawings, and material submissions to confirm they align with project specifications and authority requirements.
• Oversee site installation activities and verify that quality and safety standards are maintained.
• Work closely with civil and structural teams so that MEP systems integrate correctly with the overall project.
• Interface with RTA, DEWA, Civil Defence, and other concerned authorities for approvals, inspections, and final handover.
• Track subcontractor performance, assess technical aspects of work, and keep delivery on schedule and within budget.
• Troubleshoot MEP-related technical issues and resolve clashes or interface problems on site.
• Draft progress updates, non-conformance reports, and inspection records for internal teams and the client.
• Ensure all installations comply with Dubai Municipality codes, RTA standards, and recognized international best practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and bring 10–12 years of experience in MEP execution. At least 3 years of that experience should come from bridge or infrastructure projects in the UAE. A strong understanding of transportation infrastructure MEP systems is essential, particularly for bridge lighting, drainage, and utility coordination. Familiarity with RTA, DEWA, and Civil Defence requirements is also required. The role calls for proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and related engineering tools, along with strong leadership and coordination skills for working across multiple disciplines. A UAE driving license would be an added advantage.
