  • Protect the bank’s assets and liabilities by keeping the assigned portfolio in strong quality.
  • Manage the credit portfolio at an acceptable risk level.
  • Stay current on each client’s financial position by using insights from annual review processes.
  • Connect clients with other business partners when broader advisory support is needed.
  • Hold an annual discovery/strategy meeting with every client and document actions in the client relationship plan.
  • Complete credit reviews with the Credit Solutions Manager within required timelines, where applicable.
  • Carry out any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Management Studies, Finance, or Economics from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least 5 years of banking experience, including a minimum of 5 years in general credit work such as corporate lending and loan administration.
  • Comfort using common computer applications, including spreadsheets and word processing tools.
  • Strong understanding of Jamaica’s corporate and commercial banking landscape, including key industries and competitive conditions in the assigned area.
  • Good grasp of the bank’s objectives, segment strategy, structure, and lending and deposit products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal ability.
  • Solid networking skills and the confidence to build professional relationships.
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to assess credit and lending risk.
  • Working knowledge of the Banking Act 1992, the Banking Amendment Act 1997, and BOJ regulations relating to credit classification, provisioning, and non-accrual requirements.
  • Ability to apply modern management and supervisory practices, including dealing with difficult staff situations.
  • Skill in handling customer concerns, understanding individual needs, and adjusting your approach to different situations.
  • Persuasive selling ability when promoting the bank’s products and services.
