Role Overview
The Senior Global Program Manager will help drive global project execution by keeping teams aligned, supporting planning and decision-making, and making sure milestones are delivered with the expected quality, timing, and budget discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate productive global project team meetings that support communication, help remove barriers, and resolve open issues.
- Make sure decisions, action items, and meeting commitments are followed through.
- Guide the team in building project timelines and budgets for work with moderate resource needs, risk, or complexity.
- Track project progress, provide status updates, and keep timelines and budgets current.
- Explain complex topics clearly so that team members understand the project objectives, plan, critical path, and related activities.
- Ensure deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standard.
- Prepare and coordinate global project scope documents and planning materials.
- Work with team members to keep sub-teams aligned and ensure functions are allocating resources appropriately to support sub-team goals.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation actions with the team.
- Escalate possible issues to the Project Team Leader and the broader team for resolution.
- Create and put into action an Integrated Development Plan that supports the approved Project Strategy.
- Align functional goals with project team goals and include relevant project-team goals in individual objectives.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, along with 7 to 10 years of experience, is required; a mix of education and experience may also be considered.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent plus 5 years of pharmaceutical development experience is preferred.
- PMP certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical development programs, including a basic understanding of clinical development, CMC development, commercial principles, and health authority requirements.
- Strong project management capability, including timeline planning, critical path identification, budget control, pharmaceutical risk analysis, and mitigation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive team activity.
- Ability to interpret complex business and technical documents.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and business correspondence.
- Comfort communicating ambiguous concepts with managers or directors.
- Ability to present to groups across the organization.
- Ability to work with a semi-autonomous level of supervision.
- Strong command of English in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing.
