About the Role
BSL is seeking an experienced and skilled Avionics Technician to join our team in Umm Salal Muhammad, Qatar. The successful candidate will report to the Avionics Junior Supervisor and be responsible for performing detailed base maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft. This role requires a strong understanding of approved data sets and the ability to execute maintenance instructions within the organization's regulatory framework. You will demonstrate expert trade knowledge of Typhoon aircraft and assemblies, proficiently follow diagnostic procedures, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Core Activities
- Conducting in-depth maintenance and inspection of Typhoon Avionic systems, ensuring all work aligns with the work package and utilizes approved technical information. Assist in resolving maintenance issues and faults, maintaining awareness of configuration management.
- Executing assigned maintenance tasks on Typhoon Avionic systems, which may involve component removal, inspection, repair, modification, fault rectification, replacement, and system testing.
- Exhibiting a flexible and proactive approach to responsibilities, taking direction effectively.
- Maintaining personal task authorization for component work in accordance with QAF regulations.
- Providing progress reports against delivery targets to the supervisor.
- Performing support tasks within the Base Maintenance Facility to ensure compliance with MOE and QAF procedures, including oversight checks and management of tooling and test equipment.
- Evaluating faults and generating ad hoc work cards for any issues discovered during maintenance.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are meticulously documented and airworthiness records are accurately maintained in both IT and paper-based systems. Compiling necessary reports, identifying issues, and escalating them as required.
- Maintaining a personal Log Book to document currency and recency of skills. Signing other personnel's logbooks as appropriate within your trade and skill boundaries upon completion of On the Job Training (OJT).
Key Accountabilities
- Performance Indicators: Lead by example by delivering effective maintenance, meeting delivery targets, monitoring progress, and reporting any impact on continuing airworthiness. Identify and escalate issues promptly. Understand how individual and team actions contribute to overall performance and safety.
- Procedures/Standards: Adhere to the regulatory framework, associated procedures, and company standards. Propose changes where applicable.
- Safety Management System: Apply human factors and error management principles to all maintenance activities. Understand and mitigate risks associated with maintenance tasks.
- Continuing Airworthiness Assurance (Quality): Ensure maintenance activities comply with the continuing airworthiness assurance management system and the MOE.
- Statutory/Regulatory & Legislative Requirements: Demonstrate a thorough understanding and application of the relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework. Support the implementation of regulatory changes. Ensure compliance with ITAR, EaPW, ISO, and other applicable requirements.
- Contractual Requirements: Comply with all relevant contractual obligations.
