Role Overview
Roofstock is hiring an Analyst to support its real estate investment team. This position focuses on underwriting, portfolio analysis, and business development across the single-family rental and build-to-rent platform. It is a hands-on analytical role with exposure to investment decisions and growth strategy, making it a strong fit for someone early in their career who wants to build a foundation in real estate investing.
What You'll Do
- Assist with underwriting and financial analysis for new investments, partnerships, and business development opportunities, including cash flow, yield, IRR, and scenario-based modeling.
- Work closely with Business Development and Investment teams to assess builder relationships, portfolio acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Review portfolio performance using metrics such as occupancy, rent growth, expenses, and NOI.
- Create and update financial models that support new deals and ongoing portfolio reviews.
- Perform market research and competitive analysis to guide growth decisions.
- Help prepare investment memos, presentations, and internal reporting for stakeholders.
- Monitor pipeline activity and help keep underwriting, deal strategy, and execution aligned.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Property Management teams across functions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a similar field, along with 2 to 4+ years of experience in real estate, investment banking, consulting, FP&A, or another analytical role. Strong Excel and financial modeling skills are important, along with a proactive mindset, leadership ability, and strong organizational habits. The role also calls for experience working in an AI-enabled workflow, familiarity with underwriting, valuation, or business case development, and the ability to turn data into business recommendations. Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration are also essential.
Nice to Have
- Background in real estate investing, including single-family rental, multifamily, or residential markets.
- Exposure to tools such as SQL, Tableau, Sigma, or similar platforms.
- Interest in business development, partnerships, or growth strategy.
Location
This position is remote, but the employee is expected to be based in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, or Charlotte, North Carolina.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this role is expected to be between $80,000 and $95,000, with the final amount depending on experience and location. Roofstock notes that compensation may vary by geography and that base pay is only one part of the overall package.
