Role Overview
Nemesys Ltd is hiring a full-time Automation Systems Engineer to work from Invercargill, New Zealand. The role runs on standard daytime hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and focuses on delivering automation and safety projects for industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of automation and safety projects from early scoping through to final commissioning.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and internal specialists to clarify requirements and maintain momentum across the project.
- Coordinate timelines, outputs, and technical activities across design, programming, installation, and start-up phases.
- Contribute to the creation of reliable control solutions that support operational performance, safety, and business goals.
- Produce project records, status reports, and handover documentation to support a smooth transition and future servicing.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in project engineering or automation delivery.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Project Engineering, or another closely related discipline.
- Background in delivering industrial automation or control system projects within manufacturing or process environments.
- Strong knowledge of project execution, commissioning, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Working familiarity with PLC, HMI, and safety systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus strong organisation and prioritisation ability.
