Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar for a BMS professional responsible for monitoring, running, and improving building management systems. The scope includes HVAC, lighting, power, and other connected building services. The role requires handling alarms, diagnosing issues, fine-tuning setpoints, and working with maintenance and technical teams to complete corrective work. You will also carry out periodic checks on system performance, prepare energy and efficiency reports, suggest ways to improve comfort and lower operating costs, and coordinate with vendors and contractors during system upgrades or expansions.

Key Responsibilities

• Track the performance of building management systems and respond to alarms and abnormal readings.
• Investigate faults, identify causes, and support corrective actions with maintenance and technical staff.
• Adjust control settings and setpoints to maintain comfort, efficiency, and safe operation.
• Inspect system performance regularly and document findings.
• Prepare reports on energy consumption, system efficiency, and operational issues.
• Recommend practical improvements to reduce costs and improve building performance.
• Support contractors and vendors during upgrades, expansions, and related technical work.
• Ensure activities remain aligned with safety rules and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain logs, documentation, and standard operating procedures for BMS operations.

Qualifications

• Solid technical understanding of BMS platforms, including HVAC, lighting controls, and integration with other building systems.
• Hands-on exposure to system monitoring, alarm handling, fault troubleshooting, and performance tuning in commercial or industrial environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, control schematics, equipment manuals, and related system documents.
• Working knowledge of energy-saving practices and building efficiency methods.
• Good grasp of workplace safety requirements, facility regulations, and basic electrical and mechanical concepts.
• Comfortable using computers, BMS interfaces, reporting tools, logging systems, and basic MS Office applications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for coordination with maintenance crews, contractors, and management.
• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline; BMS certifications are an added advantage.
• Prior experience in facility management, building operations, or MEP services in the Gulf region is preferred.
• Must be able to work on site in Doha, Qatar and handle urgent issues; shift or on-call duty may be required.
