About the Role
Alzheimer’s Queensland is a forward-looking organisation focused on helping older Australians stay independent, safe, and respected while living in their own homes and local communities. The organisation is hiring Community Support Assistants for its Gold Coast community care team on a casual basis. This position involves supporting aged care clients aged 65 years and over in their own homes through a person-centred approach to care.
The role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by helping clients stay connected with their community while preserving their independence and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on personal care and assistance with everyday living tasks.
- Support clients with social engagement and access to community activities.
- Assist with meal preparation and light household duties.
- Keep communication clear and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or Community Care is required.
- Prior experience assisting older adults in a community-based environment.
- Ability to manage time well and work independently.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills.
- Availability for roughly 20 hours each week.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Queensland Open Driver’s Licence.
- Access to a dependable vehicle with comprehensive insurance coverage.
- Own smartphone.
- Current National Police Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
Pay and Benefits
- Hourly pay of $45.74 plus superannuation.
