Custodian/Stocker

Role Overview

Y-Not Stop is looking for a dependable Custodian/Stocker to help keep the store clean, organized, safe, and customer-friendly in Marksville, Louisiana. This position combines store upkeep, stocking, light maintenance, and customer assistance, with an emphasis on teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude.

Key Duties

• Adhere to store policies and help maintain a safe environment for customers and coworkers.
• Maintain a calm, upbeat, and drama-free approach while on duty.
• Wear the required uniform and safety equipment properly.
• Respond quickly to spills and flag any maintenance or repair issues.
• Stock products correctly using FIFO practices and keep coolers neat and presentable.
• Arrive on schedule, prepared to begin work.
• Work cooperatively with teammates, offer assistance, and ask for support when needed.
• Welcome customers, assist them in locating items, and provide courteous service.
• Handle customer concerns respectfully and involve a manager when appropriate.
• Purchase personal snacks before consuming them.
• Keep personal phone use out of the customer area by storing it away during work.
• Keep the store clean and complete the daily checklist tasks.
• Perform small fixes, such as changing lightbulbs, and assist with deliveries.
• Notice cleaning and upkeep needs proactively before they become problems.
• Contribute ideas that can improve store operations and customer experience.
• Support the team, act with integrity, maintain a winning mindset, and make a positive difference each day.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing and walking, along with occasional bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The job also involves regular use of the hands, normal hearing and speech, and standard vision abilities. Work is mainly indoors in moderate noise, though there may be short periods of exposure to outdoor weather, temperature changes, wet or humid conditions, fumes, chemicals, or vibration.
