About the Organisation
QLeave is a Queensland statutory authority responsible for portable long service leave schemes across the building and construction, contract cleaning, and community services sectors. Managing more than $2 billion in funds, the organisation is focused on delivering benefits workers have earned through sound governance, accountability, and high-quality service.
About the Opportunity
QLeave is looking for an experienced data professional to join its Data and Analytics team in Brisbane’s North. This is a flexible, full-time temporary role suited to someone who enjoys supporting operational decisions through clear, reliable analysis, documentation, and reporting.
In this position, you will work with teams across the organisation to strengthen reporting, improve data processes, and help introduce new systems and enhancements. The role offers a chance to grow in a modern data environment while contributing to practical outcomes that support the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, assess, and present performance and operational data to support business activity and decision-making.
- Help design and refine data collection practices, reporting approaches, and analytical methods aligned to business and data strategies.
- Develop and assist with reports, briefings, and submissions covering performance, benchmarking, and monitoring information.
- Identify ways to improve data quality, systems, and business processes, and support the delivery of those improvements.
- Prepare documentation such as reports, presentations, business cases, and technical or functional requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- Hands-on experience in data analysis and reporting, including the use of Power BI and SQL to create meaningful outputs.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret information and spot opportunities for business improvement.
- Experience contributing to better reporting processes, data collection methods, and analytical practices.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues in a high-performing team.
- Comfort with modern data and technology concepts, plus the ability to learn and apply new tools in a changing environment.
- Capability to use business intelligence tools and techniques to produce dashboards, performance reports, and ad hoc analysis.
- Commitment to improving data quality, collection, and processing so information remains reliable and well governed.
- Care in ensuring data used for reporting and analysis is accurate, dependable, and handled appropriately.
Qualifications and Experience
No mandatory qualification is required for this position. However, the following would be viewed favourably:
- Practical experience developing modern business intelligence solutions.
- Exposure to Microsoft data platforms such as Fabric and Azure.
- Qualifications in information technology, mathematics, or a related discipline.
Application Requirements
Applicants should submit:
- A detailed resume covering qualifications, relevant experience, and achievements.
- A short cover letter of 1 to 2 pages explaining your motivation for the role and showing how your experience aligns with the role’s requirements. This should add something beyond your resume and does not need to address each attribute individually.
