Role Overview
This position is focused on managing inventory and forecasting demand for the Rock Tools region across Central Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of area Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings for the assigned areas.
- Gather forecast inputs, analyze deviations and trends, and suggest ways to improve processes.
- Share forecasting and inventory information with key regional stakeholders and keep them aligned.
- Guide regional teams so orders are raised in line with forecast expectations.
- Support internal teams in strengthening inventory control and efficiency.
- Work with the regional manager to keep stockroom inventory settings accurate and up to date.
- Plan replenishment based on forecast demand.
- Approve and release orders using system requisitions and customer orders.
- Handle and follow up on expediting requests from regional teams.
- Analyze stock performance in detail and identify opportunities to reduce excess and improve stock health.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to build both short-term and long-term inventory plans.
- Track inventory-related measures such as fill rate, obsolete and slow-moving inventory, days in inventory (DII), order fulfillment lead time (OFLT), forecast accuracy, and airfreight usage.
- Provide cover and assistance to other team members when needed.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have a matric or equivalent qualification, along with a BCom in Supply Chain Management. A strong understanding of the S&OP process is needed, together with advanced Microsoft Excel capability, solid analytical ability, and experience in root cause analysis. The role also calls for excellent time management, the ability to prioritize effectively in a busy environment, strong attention to detail, confidence in driving and implementing process improvements, good verbal and written presentation skills, experience using forecasting tools, and a valid driver’s license.
