About the Internship
We are developing a cutting-edge field IoT instrumentation device that combines multiple sensing techniques, a smart touchscreen, cloud connectivity, and remote firmware updates. As an Embedded Systems Engineering Intern, you will contribute to creating production-quality firmware for a complex embedded platform, closely collaborating with hardware and product teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Create and maintain embedded firmware tailored for a resource-limited SoC running FreeRTOS.
- Integrate communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, and ADC to connect sensors and peripherals.
- Design and sustain multi-screen touch display UI logic, involving state machines and event-driven interactions.
- Establish robust IoT data transmission pipelines employing MQTT over Wi-Fi with AWS integration.
- Implement secure over-the-air firmware updates with rollback capabilities.
- Manage persistent data storage for calibration, configurations, session logs, and device states using NVS.
- Develop sensor firmware interfacing analog front-ends including electrochemical and optical sensors for pH, conductivity and color detection.
- Build battery management functionalities such as state-of-charge estimation and display integration.
- Produce modular, clean, and well-documented C code adhering to best embedded development practices.
- Engage in design reviews, generate technical documentation, and assist with hardware validation and testing.
