Role overview
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts is hiring an Engineer I in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is a full-time, non-management engineering and facilities role based at Marasi Drive, Dubai. The position is not remote.
What you will do
- Handle guest repair requests and speak with guests or customers to solve maintenance-related concerns.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical-room equipment, and related assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machines visually and transport needed equipment such as tools and radios.
- Find, identify, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utility systems across the property.
- Track maintenance stock and request parts and supplies when required.
- Share daily work updates and issues with other shifts using approved communication methods and standards.
- Work with basic knowledge across HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems, carpentry, finish work, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy saving practices, and general building operations.
- Complete surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood-trim repairs, light bulb and air-filter replacement, and full cleanup after repair work.
- Test, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical parts, guestroom items, and related devices, including toilets, drains, lamps, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switches, and outlets.
- Program televisions and handle routine housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout procedure before starting maintenance work.
- Repair interior and exterior landscaping features and sprinkler systems.
- Use computers for basic tasks such as entering air handler schedules and adjusting temperature settings.

- Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
- Complete required safety training and certifications and store flammable materials correctly.
- Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Protect confidential information and company property.
- Welcome guests courteously, anticipate service needs, and support people with disabilities.
- Work respectfully with coworkers, communicate clearly, and help the team achieve shared goals.
- Meet quality standards and carry out additional reasonable duties when asked.
- Be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items up to 50 pounds without help, and handle heavier lifting with assistance.
- Work around stairs, ramps, and ladders, and perform bending, reaching, twisting, and stooping as needed.
Preferred background
The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, some hands-on experience in general maintenance, and exposure to surface preparation and painting. Prior experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is an advantage.
Required qualification
A valid driver’s license is required.
