Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned projects and clearly understand the project’s expediting approach.
• Carry out expediting checks at the frequency defined by the expediting level attached to each purchase order.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to track the status of project materials and goods.
• Maintain accurate, timely project updates and prepare weekly expediting reports.
• Work with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues quickly.
• Examine purchase order delivery needs to confirm project expectations are being met.
• Assess the required expediting intensity and workload to help materials arrive in line with project schedules and shop requirements.
• Update company systems consistently and share expediting reports with the project team and suppliers, highlighting progress, risks, and concerns.
• Follow up to ensure suppliers deliver all purchase order items on time so project timelines stay on track.
• Partner with procurement leadership to identify delays and performance gaps, including engineering drawing slippages, fabrication issues, delivery delays, sub-supplier coordination, and manpower constraints.
• Coordinate expediting matters across departments, offices, fabrication, and construction teams to support project deadlines.
• Keep Logistics informed and involved for material movements that fall under McDermott’s responsibility.
• Keep the focus on McDermott’s final deliverable, whether it relates to procurement, engineering, fabrication, or construction.
• Promote clear communication among procurement teams, clients, project groups, and suppliers.
• Use company expediting procedures consistently and in line with internal policy.
• Carry out additional expediting-related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management or another relevant field; alternatively, HSD, GED, or IGCSE with 3 years of relevant experience.
• 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Practical understanding of expediting within procurement operations.
• Experience handling supplier documentation, piping bulks, electrical bulks, instrumentation bulks, and instrumentation items such as regulators, gauges, and PSVs.
• Exposure to expediting mechanical equipment is considered an advantage.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with both procurement and non-procurement stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work well in a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
• Familiarity with materials management systems used in procurement and logistics.
• Understanding of expediting systems that support project execution.
• Knowledge of the Unifi expediting process.
• Ability to apply learned knowledge in day-to-day work activities.
• Understanding of the full materials management lifecycle.
