Junior Associate - Python Developer

About the Role

HSBC is hiring an experienced professional for the Junior Associate - Python Developer position based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Key Responsibilities

• Track, review, and correct static data updates and any missing information in the reference portfolio, including proposing replenishment reference portfolio updates and handling booking or flagging of securitised facilities, NPI, and portfolio NPI where automation is not yet in place.
• Carry out modelling and support substantiation or reconciliation for Reimbursement Right Asset and Compensation receivables.
• Prepare ESMA reporting, investor reporting, and internal reports, while also coordinating legal due diligence activities.
• Handle agreed-upon procedures with accountants such as KPMG, including independent verification of securitisation data against HSBC system outputs or facility agreements.
• Compute quarterly investor guarantee fees, covering collateral interest and operating expenses in line with contractual commitments.
• Oversee claim handling for defaults in the securitisation reference portfolio and respond to investor questions about CLO structure and performance.
• Review documentation before policy signing and manage NPI lifecycle activities, including transaction monitoring, insurance premium settlements, reconciliations, and controls.
• Monitor facility-level data from the facility agent and maintain the data room with the insurance broker.
• Support claim processing for defaults on loans secured by NPI, and manage reimbursement asset and compensation receivable substantiation and reconciliation.
• Set up and maintain data rooms, agree NDAs, review loan transfer and confidentiality restrictions, and assist with closing and settlement steps.
• Review documentation before participation agreement signing and manage claims for defaulted loans secured under sub-participation agreements.
• Manage the sub-participation lifecycle, including transaction monitoring, reconciliations, and control activities.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of banking rules, particularly capital treatment and securitisation regulations.
• Working knowledge of credit risk mitigation methods such as securitisations, credit insurance, and credit derivatives, along with loan products.
• Experience in banking, structured finance, markets, or credit portfolio management.
• Advanced Python capability is mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and a delivery-oriented approach, with the ability to complete work on time and to a high standard.
• Ability to build clear, well-reasoned arguments.
• Proven skill in balancing and prioritising multiple competing tasks.
• Capability to maintain a strong control environment and ensure compliance with HSBC policies and procedures.
• Ability to identify issues early and escalate or resolve them effectively.
