Overview
Nova Infotek is hiring a Junior Data Analyst in Houston, Texas for a full-time, on-site role focused on turning raw business information into clear insights and reporting support. The position sits within a banking-oriented environment and involves working with data from financial, operational, and customer sources.
What you will do
- Gather, clean, and verify information coming from different banking systems and databases.
- Examine financial, operational, and customer datasets to surface patterns and useful insights.
- Build recurring reports, dashboards, and presentations for managers and other stakeholders.
- Track key performance indicators and other business measures on an ongoing basis.
- Provide timely analysis that supports informed, data-backed decisions.
- Work with business, operations, risk, and compliance teams to clarify reporting needs.
- Spot data quality problems and help carry out fixes or corrective steps.
- Keep clear records of data sources, analysis methods, and reporting workflows.
- Support ad hoc analyses and additional projects as needed.
Skills and qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related subject.
- Foundational knowledge of data analysis methods and statistical concepts.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and charting or visualization features.
- Working familiarity with SQL for pulling and querying data.
- Exposure to tools like Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of banking operations, financial products, and common industry terms is beneficial.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
