The logistics group focuses on arranging truckload and specialized shipments between Canada and the United States. To support ongoing expansion, the company is looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join the Mississauga, Ontario team.

Role overview

The Logistics Coordinator will handle day-to-day brokerage activities, manage shipment flow, secure carrier availability, and provide competitive pricing in a dynamic freight market. A strong command of spot pricing, freight lanes, and carrier relationships across the United States is important for success in this role.

The right candidate will be practical, solution-oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple shipments while maintaining efficient operations and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate freight movements throughout Canada and the United States
• Find and confirm carrier coverage using an established carrier network
• Prepare competitive truckload pricing and spot rate quotes
• Design transportation solutions based on customer needs and market trends
• Keep productive working relationships with carriers and internal departments
• Track shipments to support on-time delivery and address service disruptions
• Negotiate carrier rates while protecting margin and profitability
• Share timely updates and clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders
• Ensure shipment records and system entries remain accurate and current

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in logistics or freight brokerage
• Background working in a transportation brokerage setting
• Good knowledge of US geography and key freight corridors
• Hands-on experience with spot market pricing and carrier rate negotiation
• Ability to build carrier relationships and secure capacity quickly
• Strong analytical and problem-solving approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization and multitasking ability in a busy logistics environment
